as needs be

fun with Google via femknit mafia.
You just type 'your name needs' into google and pick the funniest ones.

Spider needs:

  • to be more discriminating when dealing with hobos
  • to shed its skin to grow
  • to breathe
  • to be shown where its food is
  • to find prey
  • to do things a little differently
  • to jump
  • a victim
  • to be mounted
  • a little emergency surgery

and my personal favourite

  • to be completely submerged in alcohol.

Yes! Please!

Here also is my mini-sweater (apologies for the dodgy photo, i'm all on my lonesome today). have joined the body under the sleeves and i smell victory in the air! Oh puffy sleeves, how i love thee!

I love love love this yarn so much! it's a total dream and in precisely the best spider-colour possible. I'm now starting to fret that i wont find a button to go with it. I am always at a complete loss with buttons - to clash or not to clash? to blend? Is plastic tacky?

i'm open to suggestions here....

Haircut tomorrow, tres excitement! if it's not a total disaster, i will post a pic.

til we knit again.

Oh spider! That is a good colour on you. And coming along so fast! I hope your haircut goes well.

A contrasting button will look great. It doesn't have to clash. If you found a great white or silver or iridescent/clear one, that wouldnt' clash but it would look fantastic. And unless it looks tacky, it isn't. If it does look tacky...well you might still be able to pull it off!

You can lap the ends over and tie with ribbon if you don't want the button problems, too...

i think i might have to do just that monkey. i just finished the body and it's pretty wide. I think a wrap-a-round ribbons might be the solution.

You could even make it double breasted it it's too big! But pretty satin ribbon would be great too ;) Can't wait to see the new look!

how about a dark fancy button? something that u might see on classical designs. could give it a charm. hmmmm... i had something in mind but it's not there anymore. u know how my brain is these days, totally not there. my grandfather runs a little sewing accessories shop in Beirut (as a retired thing) and he has heaps of cool things that might look good. oh well. if only he was closer. lol. hf. i'm sure whatever u choose'll be nice. :)
